Friday Favorites

I'm late on my Friday Favorites this week. I had the luxury of having yesterday off of work have a four day weekend. I have no idea why, but I'll take it.

I went to High Maintenance to get a facial. Not to be confused with High Maintenance Bitch in Wallingford, which is a pet groomer. Yet Rob can never seem to get it straight!
This is my favorite place to get a facial. I've been going here for over two years - every 6 months or so. It's a super small spot in Capital Hill, they do a great job there and I treated myself yesterday.

Another favorite for this week is that College Football is starting this weekend!! As we speak, I'm watching College Game day. I'm sad to see that the summer is almost over, but this is literally my favorite time of year. I can't wait to see how Michigan does this year.

The last favorite is a blog is a great personal finance blog that I've been reading for a while called My Money Blog. It's really a great resource for bank accounts/credit cards with good interest rates as well as a really cool impulse spending calculator - which is especially helpful as we move into the holidays. And a lot of other tips as this guy (who is a little younger than me) strives to get his personal net worth up to 1 million dollars. It's pretty cool.

That's all for now. I gotta go wake Rob up so he can make me coffee (I can't make my own) and then I am headed to yoga.

What's the Story Morning Glory?

I'm in training all day today in Bellevue. I even had to drive to the Eastside! In the 3 years that I have been in Seattle I have only driven to work 2 times and this was one of them. And to the Eastside on top of it, this is a big day!

After work (training) I am going to drop off the car at home and take the bus down to Belltown to Branzino in Belltown to have dinner with a few friends. Then I will rush down to Qwest field to meet Rob and see one of my favorite (through Rob) bands. Oasis! You might be asking if they are still around, but as luck would have it they are! It looks like Ryan Adams and friends are opening for them so that should be pretty cool. The show is at WAMU Theatre, which is a weird venue located inside Qwest Field.
I know I still need to post pictures of the bathroom, but we were camping last weekend and I just didnt have a chance to yet... I will. I promise!

Friday Favorites

I haven't had a lot of time to blog lately and I only have one favorite. I stole this from Chris' Facebook page. It's a picture of me drinking Sangaria in the backyard this past weekend. About 6 of Rob's friends were at our house last weekend. They do it every year and it seems like so much fun. If only I had good friends like he does! Anyway, here is a picture from Saturday night when I was allowed to hang with the guys.

Rob worked so hard to get this bathroom done and it looks so great. I will post pictures this weekend. We're also going camping this weekend with some friends, so I will have something interesting to write about I hope. Have a great weekend!

Mariners Baseball on KOMO 1000

I love to listen to the Mariners games. We're lucky to have one of MLbaseball's best game announcers in the business, Dave Niehaus. This has been a good year for me as a baseball fan. Not the Mariners as a team. I have turned into the type of fan who listens or watches every game and then quickly turns on the post game show on KOMO. I then read all about the Mariners the next day on the way to work on my phone. I know when a new player is in the line-up and I know when the batting order has changed. It's been so fun to root for the home team this summer. I'm not a fair weather fan, so I think I'm a fan to stay. Here is a pic of the Moose from the suite (right above the press box!) on Wednesday afternoon. We're going tonight too!

Home Improvements

We're having a house full of people next weekend and trying to finally finish this bathroom so we don't have to share our upstairs bathroom between a bunch of us. The tile is done and all we need to do is grout. As much as I see home improvements are a pain, I do love them. The house has turned into a labor of love and work that Rob and I have done together so it's been really great to make that house into something where we love to live. That's why all of his hard work is my Friday Favorite! Below is a picture of the shower tile and the work I am doing to the stairway to the basement. I tore up all the old carpet and am painting everything white so it looks cleaner. We'll probably install a carpet runner later.

Dahlias and Tomatoes

It's been a hard year for me learning the ins and outs of gardening. I've lost a lot of plants, but others have stayed. Here are some of my favorites...

Weekend Recap

Sorry for the delay on the weekend recap. We were in Colorado last weekend for a wedding that Rob was in. It was one of his friend's from high school and the wedding was at the Wild Bason Lodge in Allens Park, CO. It was an incredible setting for a wedding and right against the Rocky Mountains. To my surprise there was NO cell service, which was a blessing because I would have been on my phone/email all day Thursday and Friday working.
We rented a cabin with 4 other friends/girlfriends and the weekend was just a blast. Rob has an incredible group of friends both from High School and from college and I love that they are my friends now too. Every time we see them it's like no time has ever passed. The cabin was very rustic, but very cute. There was a back deck that runs over a stream so all you could hear was running water. No tv, radio, or phones, it was So nice!
On Saturday we drive around the Rocky Mountain National Park. neither one of us had ever been. It was great! I wish I would have had my hiking shoes to go hiking too!
I love to knit anywhere!

Friday Favorite

It's not Friday, but it's my favorite. For once I finally got a great photo of Rainer out of my airplane window. Well Rob took it, so he gets the credit. I don't do window seats, so I was on the aisle and not close enough for this photo. On the way back from CO, we had a small detour because of the Blue Angels in Airspace so we were even closer to Rainer, but my camera was sadly tucked away for that.
