Friday Favorites

Mad Men on AMC. The Season Premier is on Sunday night and I know they will be playing marathons up unto then. Last winter was the first season and in my opinion, it is by far the best show on TV and the #1 reason why I cannot cut my cable right now. Start watching it now - you will not regret it. The new Interweave Knits for Fall is out and I found one of my first fall projects. The WindowPane Coat. If done correctly, I could see myself wearing that coat very often. I'm trying to do a fair amount of stash busting right now so I am stuck making a lot of socks and baby items, you know, items that can take up all the trash yarn in stock. Anyway, I love love love this jacket and need to make it in the fall.

Have a great Friday! Stay tuned for updates on our new garage door.

Thank you for being a friend...

As you probably know, I love the Golden Girls. I loved watching it as a kid on Saturday nights and I love watching it on Lifetime as an adult. The jokes never get old - Dorthy is always a B*TCH, Blanche is a SKANK, and ROSE is a DUMBA$$. Yesterday at work my cube neighbor told me that Estelle Getty was showing up as "volcanic" on Google Searches. I asked "why, did she die or something?" She did die, it's very tragic. Another sure sign that I am getting old and my youth is slipping away at my fingertips. RIP Estelle, you were the best!

How did Posh get that picture of Rob?

How funny is that? I just saw this cool tool by Photofunia on a link from PhotoJojo newsletter and thought this would be funny. There are a lot of different funny uploads options to play with. This one is my favorite though!

Enjoying the breeze

Say hello to our new screen door!

Actually, "new" is incorrect. Bought this one at Second Use a couple of weeks ago. It was originally a very bright red, and the screen was slightly damaged. But hey, for $25, I'm up for a little repair work. Beats $100 for a decent new one I came very close to buying before calling Allison to look up Second Use's online inventory and finding this one.

We recently settled on our exterior trim colors, for when we finally get around to painting the eaves, fascia, and window casings. The door is the hale navy blue we selected, and will be the forward facing trim and fascia. The eaves, ceilings, inner window trim, etc will be cloud cover white. We hope to get that done before the summer is over...

Have a great week-

-Rob

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites!

Nordstrom's Annual Sale. I love Nordstrom's, it's one of the best things about living in Seattle. People think you are crazy if you even think about buying shoes somewhere else. And once you experience the great return policy, you'll understand why. Friday is the start of the annual sale and although I didn't because I hate crowds, I did so some shopping online.
Yoga on Beacon is one of my favorite places in the world. It's the best way for me to get relaxed and get away from everything. I've been going there for about 4 months now pretty regularly - I try to go every day, but I always miss Tuesdays. You should check out Power 2 with Dee which is one of the best workouts and I'm always sore the next day! If you live anywhere close to Beacon Hill, you should check it out.

Have a Great Friday!

This Blog is Back!

It's finally time to get this blog back in order. Hopefully I will get some help from my husband to keep it up to date with the projects and fun stuff we have going on around the house. I'll be trying to include some regular updated things to the blog as well. My friend, Liz, does a really great job with a Mosiac Monday and Friday Favorites so I might start to incorporate that as well to make sure that I maintain my strong userbase (HA!).

You might be wondering what we've been doing for the past 2 months? To name a few of the top activities...

1. Celebrating 5 years of marriage!
2. Traveling back to Michigan for a camp party

3. Practicing up on our lawn bowling skills - I am currently playing in two leagues. Wednesday and Thursday nights.

4. Working on the basement bathroom

5. Gardening like crazy

6. Doing a lot of yoga

7. Listening to Mariners Baseball

8. Riding our new scooter - Correction, the scooter doesnt go up hills, there is no "riding" going on right now.

9. Visiting our new favorite restaurant in Portland

Rob - enjoying some wine at the Corson Building for our Anniversary
