Fremont Bar Golf

Saturday was my friend, Linsey's, birthday. To help her celebrate turning 1 more year older, her friends organized a game of bar golf. If you have never heard of it before, it's basically a pub crawl in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. You have a choice of a par, birdie, or eagle drink at each bar and the first one to finish with the lower points wins. I have never played and I didn't play this time either. Rob and I left after the 4th bar. However, we are committed to be Team Gifford the next time we play, I really think we could be a force in this game. Not only do you have to drink the drinks on the card, but you only have a half our to do it. That is great for me, since I do everything extra fast!

Needless to say the time we did spend out was fun. We visited the Jolly Roger in Ballard for dinner, the Nickerson Street Saloon , Nectar, the Ballroom, and George & Dragon before heading home.

Today Rob is helping our friends move into their new house and I stayed home to clean up around here. I've been working too much and totally deglecting my house duties.

Dave & Tami posted their pictures on Flickr of our Whistler Trip. Here are my two favorites that they took during the weekend.

Weekend in Whistler

We spent last weekend up at Whistler Blackcomb Mountain. It was a great weekend. We drive up on Thursday night and checked into the Aspens. This was the first time that I ever stayed at a place where I had ski in - ski out access. Now I don't know how I would go back. That was great.

On Friday we got up bright and early and hit the slopes. I had a new (used) board, bindings and boots and they were such a nice change from my last board. It took a little getting used to, but they were really great. We had about 5 inches of new powder and the conditions were great. On Friday we were on both mountains. I was so sore on Saturday that I could only go down 1 run. My legs were like jello. One of the best parts of the weekend was that we found a bar that had one of my favorite beers of all time, Granville Island Hef.
Below are some pictures from the weekend.

Happy New Year!

I am not that thrilled that another year has blazed by. We've had a really great Christmas break and I am so sad to have to go back to work tomorrow. Rob has made a lot of progress on the bathroom downstairs and we have been able to get a lot of lazy hanging out time in too. I have been able to do tons of knitting to finish up my late Christmas gifts.

Yesterday we spent the day at Crystal Mountain. I really liked it there last time we went, but the visability was really poor. This time we drove up in the morning and spent the whole day. It was a beautiful sunny day and the view of Mount Rainer was unreal. We had about 10 inches of powder and it was just a great day. Unfortunatly, my day was cut short when I found out that my bindings broke (of course when I was at the top of the hill). It was probably because I was "shredding" so hard that my board couldn't handle it. No seriously, I don't know what happened. I do know that we need to find other bindings fast because we are set to go up to Whistler in 2 weeks.

We celebrated when we got home by jumping in the hot tub!

Anyway, below is a nice music video display from our day at Crystal, with music that is very similar to "local on the 8s" on the weather channel. I hope you enjoy! - You might need to let it load and buffer the video.

I've also included some pictures of the bathroom progress and our drive down yesterday.
