Sunday...

This was our first weekend that we've stayed home all weekend for a while. It felt great! We were able to just hang out and do whatever we wanted. My weekend was filled with knitting, yoga, and swimming - that was a really nice treat. Rob worked around the house, specifically trying to finish up the bathroom upstairs.

We've been drinking some White Russians lately, mainly inspired by the dude. Rob makes a mean White Russian.

I always try to make dinner on Sundays for the week ahead. I just want to make sure that we have dinner ready during the week so that I can still go to yoga/swimming and not feel bad that Rob is not taken care of. :). Tonight I made a nice roast.

This is Sylvi. I've been working on this like crazy. My goal is to wear it in Italy, I don't know if I will get done. I have the sleeves done and now I am halfway done with the back. Believe it or not this was one of the best pictures that I could get that would show the stitch definition.

Portland

On Saturday we took a short road trip down to Portland to meet up with our friends who live in Mnpls and were there for business. We drove down on Saturday morning and headed down to Willamette Valley. We had enough time for three short stops at favs Styring, Elk Cove, and a new one, Trisaetum Vineyard and purchased just a few bottles of wine.

When we got back into Portland we checked it to our hotel, Avalon Hotel & Spa. It's a clean and new hotel that I would highly recommend. Unfortunatly there was no room at the Italian restauarnt that we love, we quickly realized it was valentine's day and it would be heard to get in anywhere. Who celebrates Valentine's day anyway? So we decided to go to Portland City Grill, which has a beautiful view of downtown from the 30th floor. We shared a bottle of wine and luckily came across happy hour. The food was cheap and the views were amazing. A fun night!

And then on Sunday morning.... what a great gem for breakfast. I highly recommend the chorizo scramble at Everett Street Bistro in the Pearl District. Yum!

Friday Favorites

I've been sick all week, so I haven't posted much or done much. I am at the tail end of a cold I picked up on the way home from San Diego on Monday. The one thing that will always boost my mood no matter what ... are animals.
We came home to these guys on Monday.

We became BFFs with the Coleman's Dog, Norman. What a cutie.

C is for....

C is for .... California - It was nice to get away, even if it did rain all weekend.
C is for ..... Coleman - It was so great to hang with Andrea and Jamey for the weekend! It was exactly what we needed. Good times with good friends.

C is for .... Chardonnay - This little gem of a photo was taken outside of a winery in Temecula.

Friday Favorites

San Diego!
It's been a rough week this week, so I am really looking forward to our short trip down to San Diego today. I wouldn't call San Diego a favorite of mine, but Rob loves San Diego so for that reason it can be a favorite. We decided to cash in airline miles to get down there to see the sun. We're visiting our really good friends Jamey and Andrea and we'll spend Saturday at a Wine Festival in Temecula.

I'll post pictures when we get back on Monday!
