Cork Floor Mania

Last Sunday we focused on installing the cork floor. While tile hex tile was still drying in the bathroom, we didn't want to let a whole day waste away so we decided to install the floor. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be and we pretty much finished the whole floor in 1 day. However, we both wer so terribly sore on Monday that we couldn't even move.

Check it out - it looks great!

Also Brian was really excited because we found his beloved toy under the washer and dryer.

On Tuesday my Columbia City knitting group met at Verve Wine Bar in Columbia City since Starbucks was on a mandatrory close down for training. What a great gem that wine bar is. They do weeklytastings for $10 on Tuesday nights. It was really great to try a new place and kick back with my new kntting friends.

New Baby Sweater!

I knitted this sweater a while back, but forgot to post about it. This is a super cute sweater that I made for my manager's little baby. It's called the Eyelet Yoke Cardigan and the pattern is free from Lion Brand. It was easy and it turned out great.
Here are the details:

Pattern: Eyelet Yoke Cardigan from Lion Brand
Yarn: 2 skein Valley yarns Lenox in Avacado color
Needles: US 7 Knit Picks Options
Completion Time: 3 days - Another addictive sweater
Modifications: None
Notes: This is a great easy knit that I know I will make more...

Another Great Saturday

I got back from Orlando on Thursday night and was dog tired. The best news is that while I was there I stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and found a giraffe outside my window all three nights in a row. How Cool! After losing my wallet and my knitting needles, I still made it home in one piece on Thursday night.

I'm so glad the weekend is here. We got up this morning and cooked a nice breakfast and then ran some errands. I was so excited to see that some of my flowers have started to bloom! Spring is officially here. I love February in Seattle for this reason. We're finishing off some things outside today and then going to work in the bathroom. I can't wait to post some pictures, it is coming along so well! I also have some knitting related things to post as well. In the meantime here are some pictures of the flowers, Rob, and a pic I took when we were near Seward Park the other weekend.

Here comes the sun...

Today was a beautiful day. The sun was out and it was warm. Even Brian was really enjoying the fresh air.

Last night Rob and I celebrated my recent promotion with a trip to Pizzuto's. For Valentines Day they run a few specials which were different then the standard menu. The wait staff was excited to see that I decided to try something other than the usual gnocchi with meat forte (to be honest, I didnt have a choice :) ). I had Tortellini Valentino and it was wonderful.

This morning we walked over to the Galaxie coffee shop and had some coffee while I worked to get ready for my trip next week and Rob researched hotels in Bangkok. On the walk home the sun was shining and it was actually semi warm out! I decided to go outside and feed my plants as well as just weed the flowerbeds a bit. I planted tulips inthe fall. I'm so excited to see them coming in. I cant wait until they bloom. Here are some pictures. I also have lots of updated pictures on Flickr.

Can someone please tell me if that last picture I posted is a weed? I didn't pull it out because it looks like it might be something nice.

Thailand or Bust!

I'm excited to report that we just booked our tickets to Thailand for vacation in April. This has been a long time coming and a vacation that Rob and I have talked about taking for a few years. Unlike Italy where we drank and ate our way through the Amalfi coast, what will make this trip special is that we will be accompanied by our very dear friends, Michele and Marc. We've wanted to go on vacation with friends for a long time so I'm so excited

We plan to spend a few days in Bangkok and then it's off to the beach for a week. More to come on this topic, but for now... here is a picture I stole from Andeman Graphics...

Happy Birthday, Rob!

It's a few days late, but I wanted to make sure I gave a shout out to Rob's birthday. We celebrated with a night at Pizzuto's with a surprise order of tirimisu.

On other notes, I flew to Anahiem on a client trip on Tuesday and quickly made the Baby Bolero from the book, One Skein. It turned out so cute and I was so happy with it. The client was impressed with my knitting skills and I hope that their little baby can wear it soon.

Pattern: Baby Bolero by Leigh Radford from One Skein

Yarn: Valley Yarns - Lenox in Avacado

Needles: US 8 and 8 Knit Picks Options
Completion Time: 2 days - This one is addictive.

Modifications: None
