I think Rob and I both have been suffering from cabin fever. I remember this happening last year around this same time. Although we went away this past Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's still not vacation. Make no mistake Giffords & Raspors, we love visiting you.... I'm sure you understand. While I was making this new banner, I was looking through our old pictures from our short vacation in Ireland in 2004. Ireland is one of the best places ever and we had SOOO much fun! If you never saw the pictures from Ireland, here is a link to take a closer peak.
I think we are about 21 days out until we leave for Rome and I can't even tell you how excited I am. We've wanted to do this trip for as long as I remember. I'll post more details as departure time draws near.
In the meantime, there is not a lot of home improvements to report, which is why the blog has been slow.
The only exciting news is that our friends, Liz&Adam, got us hooked on Nintendo DSlite. I'm not a gamer, but I might be known to have all my guy friends from work over to play a little Mario Kart, but that's the extent of it. This Nintendo DSlite is wonderful. I bought it on Saturday (Rob got one too! Although he's too cheap to buy one new so he got one 3mo old for 23% less than I paid) and we brought them over to Liz & Adam's and they all sync up using wifi and we played Mario Kart against each other. I can't think of a better Saturday night. It was really fun. This could also be why the knitting has been pretty slow as well.

Um… it’s been almost a month?
We’ve had a lot going on the last two weeks. Work and Rob’s classes as well my volleyball league and knitting classes have kept us pretty busy. We’ve had two different friends fly through town and we’ve been able to meet catch up over drinks. The weather is getting better and February continues to be our favorite month of the year (weather wise). Last year and this year we’re excited by how clear it is, but still cold enough to know it’s winter. Rob was able to take in a nice long hike last weekend, (I stayed home... but shouldn't have).
For Valentine’s Day, Rob and I went to see our favorite band,Crocodile. They were co headlining with Matt Wertz and the show was fantastic. We’ve enjoyed every time they have played in town and Matt Wertz was just and added bonus because he is great too. We started out the evening at Serious Pie. A new restaurant by the local celebrity chef, Tom Douglas. He has a bunch of yummy restaurants in belltown and this is just the newest. Gourmet Pizza and great house wine. It is now a favorite. Very cool atmosphere and good food. Not to be missed!

Rob also was able to finish a shelf that he was working on to house both our printers. Not only does it hold the printers but it also doubles as a place for the cats to sit so they can look outside. See below.

The first sign of spring?
This morning I looked outside and saw that we had one flower blooming on the tree in the front of the house. If I remember correctly, this tree bloomed in mid Feb. last year. It has been pretty sunny and almost unseasonably warm, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this flower.
The weekend has been relatively uneventful. Rob went on a long hike yesterday with some friends and I stayed home. I was able to get some knitting done (another baby sweater) and also start on a hat. We tried a new restaurant yesterday and we really enjoyed it. It’s Pizzuto’s Italian CafĂ© and was a nice, cute, reasonably priced family run place. We’ll defiantly go back and it’s nice to know we have a spot to go for some comfort food.
Tonight we’ve been invited to a Grammy watching party at the Triple Door. I love the Triple Door and it will be my second time there this week! It’s a super swanky music venue and bar that I adore. Rob and I were able to snag some tickets for this free food free drink extravaganza. The only problem, what do you wear to one of these things?

Happy Birthday To Rob
I know I'm a few days late. Happy 28 to Rob! Finally he has caught up with me in age and I don't feel so old!
After my knitting class I met Rob to celebrate at barolo in Seattle. It's a newer Italian Restaurant that has a very cool, sexy, modern vibe. I like it. The Happy Hour rocks and the dinner was great too! Although the gift I bought for him didn't get here yet, he was happy to see that the cats gave him a gift certificate to the gap with a homemade card. They are so thoughtful.
We're still putting the finishing touches on the basement laundry area, but have you seen Rob's faucet? Also, if you want to see more pictures, click here.
He's so proud of it. We found it at a used restaurant equipment store and now we can wash and pre rinse anything of any size.

Another Project Complete
My boss is having a baby girl. She's due at the end of the month. I am super excited to make my first baby project for her. I just finished it today (just a few minor finishing touches left).
Pattern: I'm not sure, it's a mixure of a few different patterns. Mostly a free Lion Brand Pattern that I found online.
Yarn: Trendsetter Blossom Yarns in Majenta. I would have prefered blush, but at the time, this is all the store had. I love this yarn. It's a little pricey, but it's so soft. I have my made myself and my mom scarfs from this. It was great for this project, because it's so forgiving when you make a mistake or have a problem with the seams. I used 3 balls and hoped I would have enough for a pair of booties, but I didn't.
Needles: US 7
Started: Jan 20th, 2007
Completed: Feb 03, 2007
Completed: Feb 03, 2007
Notes: Originally I planned to use a button, but instead I used a zipper. It's white, but I think it matches ok.
Next up:
Finish Gift for my Mother-In-Law
Finish another Baby Sweater.
