The Basement Make-over

BOO! The Seahawks lost. We had Liz&Adam and Dave&Tami over for brunch to watch the game. I cooked! I tried to make sticky buns but they didnt turn out. Later I tried again and it smelled just like grandma's house...mmmmm.

Because we have some busy weeks in front of us, this is going to be a few weeks in progress.

On Saturday we decided to start working on the basement. Plan: general clean up and make it look nice. It's not going to be one of those basements that we use to have people over, watch tv or work on our computers. It should still look nice though, you know? Laundry is the main use.

After moving in the cabinets that were previously in the garage (the ones behind Rob), Rob said we needed to paint them inside and out in order to start using them. We even installed fancy handles so they look even better! We repainted the gross fake pink tile back splash panel while that was behind the laundry sink. The walls are now a nice light brown color to create a contrast with the white. Rob is building a new sink table with extended counter for folding laundry with a bar overhead for hanging clothes. I also am looking for an commercial grade sink faucet. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

After that's done. We'll put down the cork floor, frame around and close in the furnace, and build a 2nd bathroom. I can't wait! Now, if Rob didnt have class 4 nights a week, we'd have this done much faster! Just kidding, Rob.

wonderful creativity here, but, darn, I didn't get to see the 'lone dumper' in those pictures! Maybe in future slideshows? Wow, you're making that basement laundry room great! I'm jealous!
