On Saturday we took a short road trip down to Portland to meet up with our friends who live in Mnpls and were there for business. We drove down on Saturday morning and headed down to Willamette Valley. We had enough time for three short stops at favs Styring, Elk Cove, and a new one, Trisaetum Vineyard and purchased just a few bottles of wine.
When we got back into Portland we checked it to our hotel, Avalon Hotel & Spa. It's a clean and new hotel that I would highly recommend. Unfortunatly there was no room at the Italian restauarnt that we love, we quickly realized it was valentine's day and it would be heard to get in anywhere. Who celebrates Valentine's day anyway? So we decided to go to Portland City Grill, which has a beautiful view of downtown from the 30th floor. We shared a bottle of wine and luckily came across happy hour. The food was cheap and the views were amazing. A fun night!
And then on Sunday morning.... what a great gem for breakfast. I highly recommend the chorizo scramble at Everett Street Bistro in the Pearl District. Yum!

Yes, that is a great pic - your banner, but please stop calling things gems. You sound like Grandma Erickson.
