5 Things I love about Seaview, WA

So this past weekend we visited Seaview, WA for the first time. I had purchased a Groupon offer a few months ago and it was a really great deal to stay at Shelburne Inn.  This is part of our effort to see more of the Pacific Northwest this year.  Seaview is right on the ocean on the Long Beach Peninsula.  We had a really great trip exploring this lovely little beach town.

Specifically we loved...

1. The Elk Burger.  The Pub at the Shelburne Inn had a locally hunted Elk Burger as a special and it was really great. Josie, Rob, and I shared the big burger.
2. Seeing Bears (and tracks).  We took a 9 mile walk one day and on the path we saw bear tracks.  Later that day we took a drive to the state park and saw a bear on the road. I am happy we didn't see the tracks on our drive and the bear on our walk!
3. The Beach Path. There is a paved path called "Discovery Trail" that runs along the ocean.  It's a great trail that you can bike, walk, or run on.
4. Seafood. This area of Washington is known for its oysters and clams.  Along the road towards Seaview you'll find clam and oyster shacks to stop to get lunch.
5. The Shelburne Inn. We really liked this B&B. I am not sure I would pay the full rate to stay here but the owners were awesome and the food was really great. All the food was seasonal and local and outstanding.
